Hôtel Plaza Athénée,Paris reaps the benefits
of automating their daily operations
The Hôtel Plaza Athénée, one of only few officially awarded “Palace” status landmarks in France, started its multi-million-euro facelift just as it celebrated its 100th Anniversary. The Dorchester Collection property expanded by adding multiple guestrooms, suites, and a ballroom. Designer, Marie-Jose Pommereau, designed the interiors of the hotel suites. Alain Ducasse’s 3-star Michelin restaurant and bar was also redesigned by Jouin-Manku agency in Paris.
On August 1st,2014 the red auvents and geraniums returned to the avant-garde balconies of Hôtel Plaza Athénée as it reopened its doors in the heart of the Haute Couture, Avenue Montaigne. The interior design of the guestrooms and suites was done in an Art Deco style but with modern touches to cater to today’s demanding traveler’s technological and esthetic needs. Personalized iPads were introduced in each guestroom and can be customized to each guest. This allows guests to directly engage with hotel employees. The property did not miss a beat and provided their internal guests “employees” the technology to automate their daily operations and customize the experience for each guest through service optimization.
The COO of the Dorchester Collection and General Manager of Hotel Plaza Athenee, Mr. Francois Delahaye, asked his team to identify what item they thought was the most important investment the property had made during its renovation.
